Just being there when the action happens is often the key to capturing good nature video. Instead of visiting great destinations, Rob Barrel and Cat Holloway live on location. The pair shoot video from their Fiji-based live-aboard diving vessel, NAI’A. Barrel & Holloway have operated NAI’A throughout Fiji for 10 years, as well as during extended exploratory and research expeditions in Vanuatu, Kiribati and the Kingdom of Tonga where they spend each southern winter among humpback whales in the leviathans’ birthing and mating grounds. But lavishly colorful coral reefs - and the diverse creatures great and small that depend upon them - provide Barrel & Holloway with the bulk of their ever-growing DV footage collection.
