Help: Search GuideTopics Overview OceanFootage.com allows you to make detailed searches to quickly find the exact shot you need. You can perform a Keyword Search or an Advanced Search by category. If you Search for a Cinematographer, you can preview their specific collection. Often it's best to do a more general search, then narrow down your search with the Search within Results feature. You can quickly View Prior Searches at any time. Keyword Search Keyword Search is the quickest way to search for the footage you need. From the Search page, enter keywords in the Keyword Search text box, and click 'New Search.' If you are unsure of spelling, it is best to enter abbreviations. For example, a search for keywords 'ang fish' will find clips containing 'angler fish' and 'angel fish.' Advanced Search Advanced Search allows you to search for specific categories (e.g., Camera Format, Clip Cost, Topside or Underwater). Use the pull-down menus to describe your desired clip and click the Search button. You can combine any of these fields to perform sophisticated searches to narrow down your search results. For example, you could enter keyword 'squid,' then choose Composition 'Close-up' and Time of Day 'Night.' Your search would need to meet all these criteria and would likely yield relatively few, but highly relevant, results. Search Cinematographers To view the Profile Page of a specific Cinematographer and to search within their collection, enter their name under Search Cinematographer on the Search page and click on the Search button. You can also Browse all Cinematographers by clicking the Browse button. On the Search Results page, click on the name of the desired Cinematographer. Once you arrive at the Cinematographer's personal Profile Page, you can search their online stock footage collection, browse their collection, do an Advanced Search, or Browse by Keywords. View Prior Searches You can access your last ten (10) Search Results from your current session from the 'View Prior Searches' option on the Search page. Your prior searches are saved using the keyword entered and/or the categories selected. Note: You must Register and Sign In to use this option. Search within Results From the Search Results page, you can use the 'Quick Search' tool on the sidebar to search within your current found results. Simply enter a new keyword and check the 'Search within Results' checkbox. Preview Clips From the Search Results page, click on the desired thumbnail to play clips and view clip details in the Movie Popup window. You will need Quicktime Player installed on your computer to view clips on this site. Note: Register and Sign In to view higher-quality preview clips. Playback quality can be set in your Account Preferences. View Pricing Information Click on the desired thumbnail to play clips and view clip details in the Footage Search Movie Popup window.
